Subject Division

The work of the Subject Division is oriented towards all aspects of liquid-liquid extraction and phase separation; fluid dynamics, mass transfer, modeling, scale-up and equipment design can be regarded as classical core topics. The 'Extraction Portal' provides up-to-date information on relevant events, databases, literature, studies and position papers.
Primary focuses:
  • Equipment simulation with population balances and CFD
  • Reactive extraction for the recovery of reusable materials in environmental technology, hydrometallurgy, pharmacy and chemistry
  • Extraction chromatography, liquid membrane extraction, etc.
