Heat and Mass Transfer

Subject Division Heat and Mass Transfer

The Subject Division deals with the scientific fundamentals and engineering applications of heat and mass transfer processes.
Areas of special interest include:

  • Single-phase convective heat transfer
  • Distillation and evaporation processes, condensation
  • Diffusion processes, heat and mass transfer in porous media
  • Micro heat transfer
  • Solidification and drying
  • Combustion, heat exchangers

Equal weight is given to experimental, theoretical and numerical methods, which are frequently interlinked. The Subject Division discusses current R&D results, provides impulses for new R&D and contributes to networking between research and industrial practice.
