Safeguarding of Industrial Process Plants by Means of Process Control Engineering

Working Party

The Working Party sees its role as that of an expert group on all safety aspects of process control; it works in close collaboration with the Plant Safety Working Party of NAMUR and the GMA Subject Division "Betrieb und Instandhaltung sicherheitsgerichteter Systeme" (operation and maintenance of safety systems).
Main areas of work:
  • Organization and supervision of two DECHEMA continuing education courses
  • Coordination of the relevant committees of other organizations (IEC, CEN, DIN, DKE, NAMUR, VDI/VDE-GMA, etc.), particularly through membership of the pertinent standardization bodies
  • Cooperation in drafting relevant NAMUR recommendations
  • Updating the VDI/VDE Guideline 2180
