Energy Process Engineering

Subject Division

The Subject Division deals with existing and novel processes for energy conversion in power plant engineering with the target of improving the CO2 balance.
Besides reducing emissions by improving combustion techniques and control, the Subject Division's prime concerns new and improved processes to increase efficiency and also processes for CO2 capture and storage. Apart from process engineering issues, major importance is attached to the further improvement of materials. Other topics are the use of residues and biomass for energy production as CO2-neutral substitutes for fossil fuels, optimized management of energy plants, and developments in solar and hydrogen technology.
