ProcessNet
an Initiative of DECHEMA
(Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology) and
VDI-GVC (The Association of German Engineers - Society for Chemical and Process Engineering)
|
|
-
By networking all working parties and subject divisions in the fields of chemical technologies and process engineering we create synergies and value added.
ProcessNet is supported by DECHEMA - Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology e.V. and VDI-GVC - The Association of German Engineers - Society for Chemical and Process Engineering e.V. It is the organisational umbrella of the scientific and technical activities of the two societies. ProcessNet aims to develop strategies at the boundaries of disciplines and to create solutions to important technical and scientific problems much faster and to facilitate their transfer into technical applications.
To date altogether 80 working parties and sections have joined forces to form 8 sections:
-
Chemical Reaction Engineering
-
Fluid Dynamics and Separation
-
S
u stainable
P
roduction,
E
nergy and
R
esources - SuPER
-
Particle Technology and Product Design
-
Process-, Apparatus- and Plant Technology (PAAT)
-
Safety Engineering
-
Materials, Construction, Lifetime
-
Education and Innovation
Interdisciplinarity is a must - therefore networking inside the focal topics of each section as well as between these sections is crucial.
ProcessNet can take advantage of the huge competences of the two parent organisations: the organisational infrastructure of DECHEMA and its strengths in research promotion and a broad range of activities in biotechnology. VDI contributes links to all together 17 scientific societies which serve other industrial sectors, many of them important partners for the chemical industry.
ProcessNet is a joint platform for open communication and is in an excellent position to react to new demands by appropriate activities. It is open to all members of DECHEMA and VDI-GVC. The day-to-day-administration and organisational support to all groups is provided by the ProcessNet office at DECHEMA e.V., Frankfurt am Main.
The first Annual Meeting explicitly addressed the overarching topic of ProcessNet:
"Chemistry and technology for energy, mobility and health"
Here ProcessNet went public - with more than 1,200 participants it was a successfull continuation and an upgrade of the former GVC/DECHEMA Annual Meetings
