Rheology
Subject Division
The Subject Division is engaged in the development of rheometric measurement techniques, the phenomenological and structural relevant interpretation of rheological measurements and with the numerical simulation of the rheological behaviour of different materials. In this context, polymer materials as well as dispersions and emulsions and the corresponding complex formulations from diverse application areas (dyes, varnishes, adhesives, cosmetic and pharma formulations) are particularly important. However, attention also focuses on metals and metal alloys and increasingly on biofluids.
Main areas of activity:
- Co-operative testing
- Improvement of rheological measurement techniques
- Consolidation and development of the rheology network continously, and
- Impulses for and support of research projects
