Comminution and Classification
Subject Division
The Subject Division addresses the comminution, dispersion and classification of a wide variety of inorganic/organic solids and of liquids in the gaseous/liquid phase. In particular, it targets the dynamic improvement of machinery, processes, products and the modeling of comminution and classification and aims to intensify the dialogue and R&D activities between industry and academia. Focus of work and research:
- Process development
- Intensification of process understanding on the micro and macro scales
- Machinery design, construction and operation, including attrition/abrasion
- Development of new products, particularly in the nm-range
- Measurement techniques, modeling and simulation (incl. CFD, FEM, DEM)
