Education in Biotechnology

The Executive Board Committee of the DECHEMA Biotechnology Section maintains an intensive exchange of information with the ProcessNet Education and Innovation Section. The Chair is a member of both bodies.

Research activities in biochemical engineering and the natural science disciplines, chemistry and biology, have broken out of the traditional confines of their individual subjects in terms of method and content. The rapidly expanding range of tasks in industry calls for a new generation of university graduates trained to work in interdisciplinary collaboration. The Committee aims to contribute to a blueprint for biotechnology courses and to put forward proposals for the ongoing development of educational services.
