Impacts of Hazardous Substances and Energy Releases

Working Party

The Working Party is involved in the field of the impact of the release of matter and energy and pursues a highly interdisciplinary approach. There are synergies with the fields of environmental protection, fire control and also with the fundamentals of chemical and safety engineering, including the aspect of security. The chief aims of the Working Party are: scientific and technical information transfer between industry, research institutions and regulatory bodies and also the proposal and use of methods and models for calculating the impacts (air, water and soil routes) of incidents involving fire (thermal radiation, fire products), the release of matter, and explosions (shock wave with or without heat radiation).
